I dithered back and forth on this. The spelling errors were fixed in this short story version, but I honestly thought it was a continuation of Shadow and Jeremiah 's story. I hadn't read this since the 3rd book came out and didn't remember what the title of the short in the back of the book was. I don't have unlimited, so I actually bought this for a dollar. This novella should have the fact that it's already in the third book in the description. The blurb is actually vague enough, that I thought it was a continuation of their story about getting to trust each other. So I almost gave it only 2 stars, but if I'm going based on the fixes, and don't mind the romance of this series, then I'd give it 4 stars. As it stands I took the middle road. Please fix the description. It needs to mention that this is a previously published work.Product details

I've never read a Hyena shifter story before and never thought of hyenas in Georgia before, but it worked and was exciting! I liked the whole hunter vs shifter format. It was a good original story, with some serious heat and likeable characters. I really enjoyed the twist at the end that made Shadow reconsider everything she thought to be real and everything she felt. Well played! I volunteered to read this story.
I love the Margo Bond Collins Shifter Shield books! And don't be fooled by this short read! She managed to pack it full of fun and heat! Shadow and Jeremiah are sizzling! I wouldn't recommend reading in public - you might need a towel before you're done, but it is a short and hot read that won't leave you disappointed!
This novella is Laugh Out LoveA Shifter Shield novella written by Margo Bond Collins. I enjoyed this story. It would have been even better if it had been much longer. It's about the fantastical world of shape shifters and hunters. Jeremiah is the shield for his pack of hyena shifters. Shadow is a shape shifter hunter and unaware that the man she takes home from the bar is an actual shifter.... Sounds like guaranteed trouble! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC
Laugh Out Love is a short story staring a hyena shifter and a hunter. Shadow is a hunter of all things that go bump in the night. She’s been destined to eradicate shifters from birth…but what happens when she falls into bed with one?
This short story is full of action and the realization that just because Jeremiah is a hyena shifter, it doesn’t mean he’s a bad guy/shifter. Despite the short length of the story, the author does a great job including character and world development, emotional content, life lessons (things aren’t always what we are raised to believe), and fun. A quickie in the afternoon when you don’t have time to sit for long.

Shadow and Jeremiah have a few things working against them. Being a hunter, not the fun toting kind, either, means that Jeremiah being a shifter is bad for her work. She's supposed to hunt the monsters, not fall for them.
This novella is at the end of Lindi's 3rd book and gives you the background on how Shadow and Jeremiah met. I would like to see this become its own series. I feel we need more on the hunters, to see the other side of the story. How did they form? Why do they hate shifters? Do they feel all shifters are evil? Well, other than Shadow now lol. Will other hunters be brought in and over to see how shifters really live? And what is up with the wolves?? First they're taking orders from a squirrel and now they've become bullies and monsters. I need answers. )

I don't normally like paranormal or shifter romances but I loved this one by Margo Bond Collins! It's exciting, mysterious, funny, action-packed, and has a strong, kick-ass lead couple in Shadow and Jeremiah. Even the title is cute and fitting as there are hyenas in the story and we all know about their crazy-sounding laugh. The book is short too, which is one of the reasons I bought it. I got my romance fix in mere minutes. If you like a great quickie read, make sure to grab this novella.
